Contemporary technology, Skilled craftsmanship, Commitment to excellence. All these, and more, have made A.N. Instruments the most trusted name in pressure and temperature gauges. And, have helped obtain approval from leading project consultants in India and abroad. A.N. Instruments was established in the early 1970’s. Over the past two and a half decades, the company has continually expanded its product range, which now includes special purpose pressure gauges, regulators and circular chart data recorders. Its dedication to quality is reflected- in the manufacturing process, which involves rigorous quality and performance tests of all raw materials and components. Further, 100% inspection of every single piece, including leakage testing at sealing points, is mandatory. This meticulous procedure ensures consistent, trouble-free performance over years of use in hostile environments and helps avoid repeated, often troublesome, adjustments. To cater to the increasingly stringent requirements of continuous process industries, and guarantee zero defect performance of its ever-increasing product range, A. N.’s R & D Department has designed a comprehensive array of testing equipment to simulate various environmental conditions. PRESSURE GAUGES Elastic pressure gauges indicate the relative difference between the pressure of the medium and the surrounding atmosphere. The construction is simple and robust; no additional source of energy is needed for its operation. Among the existing types of sensing/elastic elements, the most commonly used are: Bourdon Tube Pressure Gauges These are used for measurement of pressure and vacuum and are suitable for all clean and non-clogging liquid and g us media. The Bourdon Tube is a thin walled tube of oval cross section, which may be of ‘C’ form or spirally wound. This tube expands when pressure is applied internally; this expansion is converted into rotation of a concentric pointer with a gear movement. The reading indicated on a dial by the pointer is proportional to the pressure applied. C-type Bourdon tubes are used for low pressure ranges and helical / spiral tubes for higher pressure ranges. Capsule Pressure Gauges Capsule Pressure gauges are designed for measuring low/very low pressures and vacuum. The pressure medium needs to be gaseous. The capsule consists of two diaphragms joined and sealed around their circumference. Several such capsules may be combined to enable measurement of very low pressures. Normally, pressure is applied to the inside of the capsule, which changes shape as a result. By means of a link and gear movement system, this deflection is converted into rotation of a concentric pointer indicating pressure on a dial. Differential Pressure Gauges These gauges are intended for measuring the pressure differential existing across two media or two parts of a system. All common pressure elements are used, as the application demands. The pressure element separates the two pressurized media, and deflects proportional to the difference in pressures between the media, irrespective of the absolute pressures applied. This deflection is converted into the rotation of a concentric pointer on a dial, similar to regular pressure gauges. The absolute value of either of the pressures is not usually indicated. Chemical Sealed Pressure Gauges These gauges can accurately measure process pressures, even under high temperatures and involving corrosive/abrasive/highly viscous/toxic/ heterogeneous process substances. Of the three types of chemical seals (each with specific advantages in particular service conditions) A. N. Instruments manufactures two types – Diaphragm Seal type and Flange type. TEMPERATURE GAUGES/ DIAL THERMOMETERS Temperature reflects the momentous thermal condition of a homogenous material. Measurement of temperature normally requires close, direct contact between the material and the sensor in such a manner that the sensor responds quickly to the temperature of the material. The two types of dial thermometers manufactured by A. N. Instruments are as follows: Bi-metal thermometers The bimetallic element consists of two strips of different metals, with different thermal expansion coefficients, inseparably joined together. This strip is spirally or helically wound with one end fixed to the body of the thermometer, and the other attached to the axis of a pointer. Measurement of temperature is made with the bimetallic system inside the temperature sensor. Temperature variation influences the bimetallic strip such as to rotate the pointer; this rotation is indicated on a dial. Mercury-in-steel /GAS Filled thermometers These thermometers enable measurement of temperature with an accuracy of ± 1% of the maximum scale value. The thermometer system comprises a sensor bulb, transmitting capillary and a case containing a Bourdon Tube element. The system is filled with pressurized mercury or pressurized inert gas (for gas filled thermometer). Temperature variation is measured by the Bourdon Tube system, and indicated on a dial. Apart from AN Instruments’ gauges, Emex Systems Limited has over ten years experience in the supply of Electrical, Technical Tools and Auto Components, Masoneilan level Instruments, Fisher Control Pressure Gauges among others |
